Cheque Printing & Layout Alignment Guide

Follow these guidelines to calibrate, save, and print physical cheques accurately.

Calibration & Tuning

  • Drag & Drop: Drag fields (Payee, Date, Amount, A/C Payee crossing) directly on the preview canvas to match your cheque leaf layout.
  • Nudge Controls: Select a field on the canvas and use the D-Pad buttons or your Keyboard Arrow keys (↑, ↓, ←, →) to nudge by 0.5 mm.
  • Date Spacing: Click the date field on the canvas to activate the digit spacing slider and adjust horizontal grid widths.

Browser Print Settings

  • Scale (Must be 100%): In your print dialog, select 100% or Actual Size. Avoid "Fit to Page" as it shrinks elements.
  • Margins (None / Minimum): Set margins to None or Minimum to prevent alignment shifts.
  • Paper Size: Select A4 and align feed guides.

Testing Best Practices

  • Save Layout: Save your final alignment as a preset name (e.g. "SBI Center Feed") and set it as your default profile.
  • Plain Paper Test: Always print a test layout on standard A4 plain paper first to avoid wasting cheque leaves.
  • Global Offsets: If the entire print is shifted, adjust the Global X/Y Offsets rather than moving individual fields.
Calibration Recommendation: Print the initial test on plain A4 paper, place it over a physical blank cheque, and hold them against a light source to check alignment. Tweak Global offsets until everything aligns perfectly before printing.
